The long anticipated local government election to be held in Ondo State on July 13th 2024 has been suspended indefinitely! The main reason behind the indefinite suspension was sighted to be that the Gov. Aiyedatiwa led government has not identified with the Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state. The chairman of IPAC, Ondo state chapter,  Mr Adesanya Olaoluwa confirmed this fact at the stakeholders meeting held on Monday at the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission ( OSIEC). He said for the fact that the governor of Ondo State,  H.E Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has not  identified with us in the state is the reason we are suspending the LG Polls In the state. The Zenith Labour  Party in Ondo State today welcomed 2000 new members who defected from the People Redemption Party ( PRP), into their midst. This event took place in Oka Akoko, the northern part of Ondo state today. It was like a home coming for most of the defected members. The state  Chairman of the party,  Hon. Akintoye Cornelius was delighted to receive them in Oka Akoko today. The chairman implored them to be more pro active as the gubernatorial race in the state draws closer.  It was gathered that these defectors defected because they no longer believe in the ideology of their former party, PRP, anymore.
