ASSOCIATION OF TERRAZO, MARBLE AND TILES WORKERS WANT THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO EMBRACE THEM INSTEAD OF THE ENGINEERS...Chief Adegeye Oladimeji, state chairman.

The association  of Terrazzo, Marble and Tile Workers of Nigeria  (ATMAWON), held her swearing-In ceremony in the week to inaugurate her newly elected excos into office. 

The state Chairman, Chief Adegeye Oluwasiji, when granting his interview to Efosa Tv Channel News said, the market  in Terrazzo, Marble and Tiles in Nigeria is not doing well right now . As it is now, the market awaits the full participation of government in their business. He also said federal government should embrace them more by giving them direct Terrazzo, Marble and Tiles contracts instead of awarding these works to engineers who will readily charge the government heavily per Square metre but in return contract them the tilers at a very minimal rate per square meter. For instance,  an engineer gets it for 2k per square  meter from the federal government, the engineer in turn will contract it out to a tiler at the rate of #500 per square meter. He said this is not good for their market.

Talking more to other members of the association (ATMAWON), the state vice chairman, Oladimeji Esan, was also of the opinion that the federal government should embrace tilers more by giving them direct contracts instead of engineers. He did recommend that the state and federal government should look into the ceramic industry and help boost it so that there will be price control on materials in the market.

The state secretary-general, Kayode Kolade, was also of the opinion that the Terrazzo, Marble and Tiles market should be boosted and that the workers should be properly engaged in tiling and marketing of the materials.   On the other hand,  Mr Oladumiye Pelumi, one of the workers said the federal government should work on transportation and pms to ease the stress of transporting materials from one location to another. 

  
Now, the big question is, what is ATMAWON bringing to the table when eventually  fully embraced by the federal government again?
