WE WILL DEFEND ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU 'S MANDATE WITH OUR LAST DROPS OF BLOOD! ... Chief Maruf Olarenwaju, leader of OPCI.
It is no longer news that the general elections in Nigeria which commenced on the 25th of February 2023 and 18th of March 2023 have come and are dusted by now.
The news now is the intrigues and dramas surrounding the outcome of the general elections especially the presidential election. Until the 29th of May 2023 , when power will transit from the Buhari administration to the president -elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, some political parties will continue to call for the cancelation of the presidential election of 25th of February 2023 because they believe the election was not free ,fair and credible.
Against that background, the Oodua Progressives Care-Initiative ( OPCI), had their meeting on Sunday, 2nd of April 2023 to stamp their signature for the Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu's mandate.
The president of the OPCI, Chief Maruf Olarenwaju in his words said to the press and the large crowd present at the conference that:
OPCI as an organization believes in the efficacy of law, democracy and unity of Nigeria. We shall not and we will not fold our hands and watch these elements of destruction to truncate our democracy. We will not allow the June 12 1993 saga to repeat itself in the 25th February 2023 election. We will do anything possible to defend our democracy, to sustain our democracy, to grow our democracy and to defend the mandate given to president -elect ,Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
At this point, we are calling, on any yoruba leader, no matter his or her status in the society that wants to play fumny or play to the gallery to desist from doing so because we the OPCI is ready as a body to mete out any punishment such persons deserve.
Ladiesc and gentlemen, the call for military coup d'at by some hooligans, criminals and enemies of democracy of our dear country Nigeria, came to us as a shock! These same elements are even asking for interim government when it was obvious president-elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu won the presidential race with over 8m votes in so that the INEC had to give him certificate of return asap.
A word is enough for the wise, end of quote, said Chief Maruf Olarenwaju, president of the OPCI. The meeting was in Ilorin the capital of kwara State.
