ASUU STRIKE CONTINUES AS FG FAILED TO MEET HER DEMANDS. TELLS ASUU TO EXPECT RESULT AT THE 2023 BUDGET.

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities ((ASUU) once again has extended her long strike of six months already as the Nimi Briggs Committee constituted by the federal government failed to meet up with the ASUU demands of 1.2trn.

During the week, the president of ASUU, Emmanuel Osoedeke gave assurance that they are ready to call off the strike as long as the federal government could meet with their demands.

On tuesday, the meeting between the FG and ASUU was held at the National University Council in Abuja. But unfortunately, that meeting ended inconclusively because the Nimi Briggs led committee failed to meet with ASUU's demands of 1.2trn.

The FG said ASUU should expect good results at the 2023 budgets.

Big question now is: Is federal government logging out on education in Nigeria or the demands of ASUU is too bogus right now?

Mr Emmanuel Osodeke before now has said several committees such as Chief Of Staff led committee. Munzal committee and the Nimi Briggs Committe have all been inconclusive with them ( ASUU). Is either they don't report back to us from the federal government or these committees by FG are handling ASUU matters in a most shabby manner, he said.

The IPPIS ( Integrated Payroll And Personal System) has always been the federal government orchestrated fraud, he  further said. Therefore, we don't want the IPPIS anymore. Let FG stop that system already. They have used it to siphone our members' money and relegate them to the background, he concluded.

Tuesday meeting between the federal government and ASUU has already come out nuts yet again because the Nimi Briggs Committee did not reach any new conclusion with Asuu but rather told them to expect some results at the 2023 budget presentation.

Questions now are: Does that really make any sense? Can that really fly in the education system in Nigeria? How long will federal government toy with the future of the Nigerian youth on education? And what is the way forward now?

President Muhammadu Buhari has already asked ASUU to call off her strike in 2weeks but with this latest inconclusion from federal government concerning Asuu's demands, do you think that warning to go back to campuses will fly, even though federal government has already agreed with Asuu to adopt the University Transparent Account Solution ((UTAS) system?
